    The journey to the meeting was hurried, the tattered wool coat providing little warmth against the biting arctic wind that numbed any exposed skin. The sounds of the snow crunching, struggling to stay warm in the harsh temperatures, contemplating the way the silence hung in the air added to a feeling of isolation. The black asphalt gleamed as the dazzling light of the winter sun burst from a new layer of ice. Tecumseh stood frozen as the icy wind struck angrily against the fragile glass doors of the buildings, daring them to shatter under the strain. Evans Street was not far away. Eagerly looking for the bright yellow house tucked behind a barrier of colossal, messy shrubs that blocked the view from the sidewalk. The empty vines outlining neighboring tresses were once heavy with blue and purplish morning glories, but they are now frozen and dormant for the winter. Screaming loudly, the ice-covered metal door only opened wide enough to fit a child through. Rays of blinding light reflected off the polished historic buildings, carefully preserved over the fleeting years. Knocking softly on the rotting wooden door, someone peered out the window as the door opened to display the deliciously crisp new pumpkin color that took over the hall walls. Peeking into the beautifully lit living room filled with exceptional antique furniture and realizing the relevance of the familiar faces of the elegantly dressed women blending perfectly with the furniture, as if we were passing through a wormhole into the past. Time has stood still in this small community. a home that is obviously cherished by the way historic structures line the streets, ongoing city events demonstrated by the community and...... middle of paper ...... try again. The group's concerns are real, but the growing needs of the homeless, hungry, lonely and sick are also horrifyingly real. Sifting through outdated information, the group realized that our current efforts were not doing much to convey our message of urgency for our cause. Learning that if we don't have a website, the only people who benefit from it are the less fortunate in our community. My goals and ambitions are for today and tomorrow. I'm holding the hands of our team of supporters and teaching them (and myself) how (until they throw me out) to be a successful non-profit charity around the world, for serve and help as many disadvantaged people as possible. Together, as we move forward, we learn how education and desire are our best tools to grow and modernize our charity. A web presence is an asset.
