The topic I have chosen for my essay is how alcohol can affect the brain. I used Google and Bing as my search database. At first I found a lot of information about drinking, but it covered all aspects of it. I wanted to incorporate as much information as possible about drinking. From drinking and driving, to how people think when under the influence, to how alcohol affects the brain. I wanted to make sure I understood everything I had learned. I discovered the most obvious fact: alcohol can be a very serious problem if not consumed responsibly. I wanted to try to present both sides of alcohol, so I could choose articles written by open-minded people. Not only can alcohol help people relax and feel less tired, but studies show that moderate alcohol consumption protects against cardiovascular disease. However, the effects of alcohol consumption can lead to health and safety issues. Car accidents, violence and suicide are just a few examples. Alcohol has many effects on people, most of which are unknown to the average drinker. Studies show that a person first tries alcohol around the age of thirteen. High school students drink thirty-five percent of all wine coolers sold in the United States and consume 1.1 billion cans of beer. To understand the effects of alcohol, it starts with the brain. It's curious why people feel the need to drive drunk. The way the brain functions under the influence of alcohol Sease 2 has always fascinated me. Drinking and driving is one of the most important decisions that alcohol leads to. What better way to help stop it than to do research to help promote and warn people of the long term damage?
