  • Essay / The Pope Francis Effect - 676

On February 28, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI resigned as pope of the Roman Catholic Church. Following his resignation, on March 13, the following papal conclave elected Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as pope of the Catholic Church (Usccb). Since his inauguration, Pope Francis I, as the first pope to take upon himself the name Francis, has had a major impact on the Church and the world as a whole. It has affected the lives and faith of not only those involved in the Church, but also people of the world. His effect was so great that he was named Time Magazine's 2013 Person of the Year. He was born in Buenos Aires on December 17, 1936, the child of Italian workers. His father, Mario, was an accountant for the railway company and his mother, Regina Sivori, was a devoted wife determined to raise their five children. He graduated as a substance professional and then chose the path of organization by entering the Diocesan Seminary of Villa Devoto. On March 11, 1958, he entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus. He completed his studies in humanities in Chile and returned to Argentina in 1963 to obtain a degree in logic at the Colegio de San José de San Miguel. From 1964 to 1965 he taught writing and brain research at the Immaculate Conception College in Santa Fé and in 1966 he taught the same subject at the Colegio del Salvatore in Buenos Aires. From 1967 to 1970 he focused on religious philosophy and graduated from the Colegio de San José (Vatican). Before becoming involved in the papal lifestyle, he was a bar bouncer and janitor. He was also a chemist, carrying out tests in a chemistry laboratory...... middle of paper ......iens but also in the lives of atheists and people of other religions. He said that the Kingdom of God is for all since the blood of Jesus has redeemed us all (Relevant Magazine). He was quick to fire a bishop who abused his power. Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst, also known as "Bishop Bling", is a German bishop who spent around $42.7 million on a house. Pope Francis quickly suspended the bishop and sent him to live in a monastery while planning to turn his elegant mansion into a soup kitchen for the poor (GMAnetwork). This shows that he would not let even those who work for him abuse the power of the Church. He continually states that since he comes from a poor home, he would not let the poor suffer when he can help, which is exactly what he gradually does.
