    What intrigues or influences us in human behavior? I will share with you a non-verbal exercise that I engaged in to determine how my non-verbal communication could, or could have affected the way I am perceived by others. For this self-assessment exercise, I carefully choose two people, my sister Laura, with whom I am very close, and Wally, a colleague with whom I feel comfortable. Laura's sighting took place at her home and lasted approximately thirty minutes; Wally, on the other hand, went to work and lasted about fifteen minutes. I began the first exercise with Laura giving me details of a family function that was to take place in the near future. I felt relaxed and comfortable during my visit and made eye contact as she explained the tasks to be completed for the upcoming event. When she spoke, I found myself constantly watching what was on television. Because I was distracted, I asked her to repeat what she said several times.
