  • Essay / Anti-Semitism Essay - 914

For centuries, the world we live in has been filled with hatred towards differences of race, ethnicity, religion, and culture. A very good example of this is anti-Semitism, which is hatred of the Jewish faith. It is believed to have started in Europe in the Middle Ages. This intensified in Germany after World War I (1914–1918), where the majority of Jewish minorities lived. Hitler, who was the leader of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nazi for short), hated Jews and held them responsible for the humiliating loss in World War I and wanted to get rid of and eliminate the Jewish population from lands controlled by the Nazis. authorities began building gas chambers in asylums, initially to kill groups of mentally ill and disabled patients in a program called T-4. Then in 1941, to kill groups from concentration camps, the 14f13 program, with carbon monoxide. The T-4 program killed more than 70,000 people. Also that year, the Germans developed mobile gas chambers (gas vans) which were used on the Russian front to cause over two million casualties, a slow and agonizing death. Later that year, they began experimenting with Zyklon B as a killer agent. Auschwitz Kommandant Rudolf Hoss claimed to have adopted Zyklon B because it guaranteed a quick and easy death for victims, although this claim was never supported by evidence (Shelton, 2005, p. 99). In 1942, Hoss converted two peasant houses into gas chambers, which were located in Crematorium 1, equipped with hollow wire mesh columns and capable of holding up to 2,000 victims at a time (Shelton, 2005, p. 99). He then used the Zyklon tablets in the crowded room and after twenty minutes the victims were dead. Concentrations of 0.4 mg/liter are unconditional...... middle of paper ....... The court rejected their allegations and held them responsible for their actions. In conclusion, the developments of many different gases are increasing and they are being used as weapons of mass destruction (WMD) for many different reasons that I discussed earlier. The Jewish people and their communities suffered this horrible ordeal and were prosecuted and blamed for something they had no part in. Nothing can be said or done to help them overcome this grief and make them forget the struggles of their ancestors, their families and their friends. endured. It is sad to say that this hatred still persists in the world and that Jews are not the only victims, as other races are hated and judged. It is extremely important that history does not repeat itself where one culture or race must endure the pain and suffering that the Jews experienced..
