These things are supposed to be kept secret, but once someone finds out, they have the power to take advantage of it and possibly bring you down. In the novel The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, a man named Edmond Dantés, otherwise known as the Count of Monte Cristo, suffered greatly in prison because he was sent there by the jealousy of others. As soon as he finds out who was involved in committing this act, they will be punished relentlessly until they die. The enemies on whom he will take revenge are jealous people named Fernand, Danglars and Villefort. The Count uses their weaknesses and sins to his advantage to befriend them, then betrays them and takes them to seek his vengeance and justice. The Count of Monte Cristo uses a specific weakness for one of his enemies. Baron Danglars. The reason Danglars is one of the Count's enemies is because he is one of the jealous men who put the Count in prison. Baron Danglars' main weakness is money. The Count uses this to his advantage because he knows that Danglars will crumble and fall apart as a person if he takes away his money. Then the Count calls on a bandit named Luigi Vampa to kidnap Danglars and take all his money.
