When parents and teacher understand the potential cause why bullies decide to bully. They can make the decision to show their children that bullying is not a good thing and this could help prevent bullying in the future. Before explaining why people bully, defining what a bully is would be a useful tool to know what bullying is. Bullying can be considered the deliberate taking of control over someone through verbal and physical abuse. Most verbal abuse begins with teasing or threats. Another type of abuse could consist of such violence: "Using superior force or influence to intimidate (someone), usually to force them to do what you want" (The Free Dictionary). Bullies may have been abused or witnessed violence at home. Bullies aren't born super mean. These bullies are raised from a young age and learn from their homes. Most bullies have problems at home. The problems at home that they might encounter could be physical or verbal abuse that could distress these children. At a young age, a child's mind can be extremely fragile and very impressionable. Most problems bullies may have include abuse, lack of attention, and inability to handle conflict at home. Along with the article Stomp Out Bullying, they said: “A common reason a child is a bully is lack of attention. from a parent at home and preys on other attentions.” Some of the problems these children might face are that their parents have divorced or are influenced by drugs.
