Hazel feels so depressed because of her cancer and she can't breathe like a normal person, makes her parents happy, does daily activities like other teenagers, makes more friends and goes on dates. Her parents want Hazel to have a normal life like other teenagers but she always refuses him. She just wants to stay home and always with her parents because Hazel always feels like she's just a burden and that she's going to destroy her parents' lives, this always haunts her.
