MLA Citation AnalysisProfessors often expect students to use certain formats and conventions when writing academic research papers. There are several ways to format an article, but most require and follow the guidelines established by the Modern Language Association (MLA). It is commonly used to cite sources in the liberal arts and humanities (Purdue). Learning how to format a citation in a research paper is a very important skill for success in college, it can mean the difference between a successful paper and a poorly designed paper. By analyzing the rules and processes for creating proper and effective work, the cited page can create a better understanding and reference point for new writers. When writing in MLA style, it is necessary to reference the work of others in one's own text. This can be done by using a parenthetical citation, it is defined as a source that happens to be cited in an essay after a quotation or paraphrase. It is important to know that the in-text citation must correspond to the sources cited in the cited work page. When writing in MLA format, follow the in-text citation method of the author page (Purdue). Add the author's last name and page numbers from which you can find the information in the source, this tells the reader where that specific information can be found. For printed sources such as books, magazines, scientific journal articles, and newspapers, include a warning word or phrase and a page number. When a source has an unknown author, use an abbreviated title of the work instead of the author's name (Purdue). It seems that students are now finding scientific information on the Internet and there is a need to know how to cite research found on the Web. Students should pay close attention to the middle of the paper. It is not necessary to cite basic facts known to all, but the books and ideas must be attributed to the writer (Works). Students should cite their sources even if you summarize or paraphrase, not just if you use a direct quote. By analyzing the rules and processes for creating appropriate and effective cited work, the page can create a better understanding and reference point for new writers. Creating a strong article can be difficult, citing can make it easier to create a basis and substance for the article. Works Cited “Citation Management”. Member's quote style.
