    IntroductionDivergent author Veronica Roth analyzes why people act and think the way they do and why they challenge the system. It uses psychological aspects of behavioral genetics, neuroscience and social culture. Norms are what allow societies to thrive, without them society would descend into chaos because no one could be kept in order. Divergent follows the life of a young girl who must choose which faction to spend the rest of her days with. Unlike her peers and fellow citizens, she is not the norm, she cannot be a simple personal trait nor be manipulated by simulations. In this utopian society, everyone is classified into five factions based on their mental state; However, Beatrice Prior's mental state cannot be categorized into a single faction as her brain structure and genetics are not damaged, like the vast majority of the city's residents. diverge. In the Divergent book, there are five factions, with each faction consisting of a personality trait.
