Most people know him for improving the telescope and creating a better version of it. Surprisingly, this is not the only discovery that Galileo is famous for. So what is it, what else was it so famous for? He is known as the father of the scientific revolution for several reasons. Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564 and died on January 8, 1642. Fortunately, he was the eldest of a family of six children. When he was barely eight years old, Galileo and his family moved to Florence. One day he swung a chandelier in large and small arcs and noticed that both took the same amount of time to stop. This incident surprised him so much that it led him to switch from medicine to mathematics. Due to financial problems, Galileo left university with the intention of creating a thermoscope. Then, he published “La petite balance” which deals with hydrostatic balance. This book finally brought Galileo to recognition. To gain support, he got a job as an instructor and began teaching perspective. Thanks to his progress and work, Galileo was promoted to the chair of mathematics at his university. The Italian scientist opened the eyes of the world to a new way of astronomy. It is thanks to him that every scientist was able to make all kinds of discoveries in astronomy. He not only contributed to astronomy, but also to mathematics, psychology, cosmology and physics. Galileo was a very intelligent man and made most of his discoveries and inventions on his own, without anyone's help and without construction books. One of his famous quotes is: “All truths are easy to understand once discovered; it’s all about discovering them.” Even when other scientists had already discovered an invention and presented their theory, Galileo never hesitated to verify and prove their invention and theories..
