  • Essay / Gay Marriage - 1658

Marriage is the legal or religious ceremony that formalizes the decision of two people to live as a married couple. Marriage should not be based on what other people think. When people marry in a heterosexual union, they do so for their own happiness and not for the happiness of others. Gay marriage is the same. Homosexuality has always existed and will continue to exist. Why should homosexuals be denied the rights of heterosexuals? No one has the right to say that homosexuals cannot marry. This discriminates against another group of people who want equality. Gay marriage should be accepted; people were created with the capacity to love, no one should try to change that, not the Bible, not the Constitution, not anyone. Marriage is mentioned several times in the Bible. But the Bible and the Amendments can be interpreted in many ways. Marriage is a religious ceremony, “But I cannot imagine even the most devout Christian obeying all of God's laws…” (Bond) No one is perfect, but our flaws make who we are. If we don't always follow a few rules here and there, it's okay because we're only human. Most parents teach their children to be different and not be influenced by others. The same should apply to gays. Those who try to change them will not succeed. Gays were created for a certain reason, but our country needs to understand that first in order to accept them. In the Bible, Jesus blesses children and sends away rich young men…Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, no one has left house, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or fields for my sake and because of me. for the sake of the good news, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this age --- houses brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields with...... middle of paper ......, that will come .Works CitedDeMarco, Donald. “Same-sex marriage should not be allowed.” The Family.
