  • Essay / My Movie Rating Criteria - 929

My Movie Rating CriteriaThere are three major criteria by which I decide whether or not to watch a movie: reputation and genre. Reputation includes friends and movie ratings. Usually my friends and I have similar tastes and are excited or turned off by the same movies. Reputation is a strong and stable standard for deciding which movie to go to, because with such a large population of viewers, major biases do not affect reputation and the rankings are fair and accurate. Additionally, people tend to give high marks to films that really move them or make them think, regardless of how good the filmmaking actually is. This implies that the highest ratings are something not to be missed, as I personally believe that films are an expression of being human, just like books or music. Missing out on an amazing movie is like missing out on an upgrade to your mind and way of thinking. Grades are very important. However, genre is probably the most important standard for evaluating films. I will absolutely never voluntarily watch a gory or scary movie unless my girlfriend or all my friends force me to. Movies have a strong influence on the way we perceive the world, because they take on the ideals of all genres, scary, comical, happy, etc. I believe that gore and weird movies are created for a certain population of sick people who like to see the dark parts. of the world. I think extremely scary movies are gateways to creating a timid mind as well as a downtrodden mind in a cycle of bravery. For example, watching a movie about vampires or psychopathic murderers, usually sparks...... middle of paper ... some shots or not definitely prevents boredom. Watching a film from the same angle and with the same shot gives any film, whether it's a simple plot, a two-dimensional and diverse perspective. A good example is the Matrix trilogy, the simple plot of machine versus human definitely seems much more interesting with the different camera angles making the action scenes amazing. Additionally, small twists or mysterious scenes are very important in every movie, no matter what it is. the genre is. This is why the story was recently added to my film standards. The story gives a twist to the plot, so people don't automatically associate it with the usual clichéd themes they've long been familiar with, including good versus evil, love versus hate, and so on. Finally, my new standards for evaluating whether or not to watch a film or not are genre, ratings, story, and shooting skill, all in order of importance.
