He also states that "television is the cultural arm of the established industrial order that serves primarily to maintain, stabilize and reinforce rather than modify, threaten or weaken conventional beliefs and behaviors." » All profiles of the interviewees show that, with the exception of eight of the girls under the age of eighteen, all the others were adult women between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-five while the oldest was forty years old. The youngest were aged between fifteen and eighteen. The results of this study are unequivocal on the negativism of the image of women in Pakistani films. Almost everyone interviewed said that the image of women and the roles they play are predominantly negative. All of them seemed to be looking at film effects for the first time as a time consuming issue to explain what media can do and how we can use it. When asked if they thought women's roles in Pakistani films were satisfactory, most of them said they were unsatisfactory and vulgar. Most of them said that pakist...... middle of paper ...... and dresses in pakistani films. • The film censor board should censor foul language used against women in films that depict them as sex symbols.
