    Don't you hate waking up early for school in the morning? Most high school students wake up before sunrise, just to get ready for school. Teenagers' brains don't start working that early because many are tired from staying up late the night before. The National Sleep Foundation reported that most teens don't get enough sleep. One study found that only 15 percent reported getting eight and a half hours of sleep on school nights. This fact was extremely true for me when I was going to high school. I was barely able to wake up, get dressed, and get to school on time because I was so tired. In my opinion, school days should start later, precisely between 9 and 10 o'clock. If the school day started later, attendance would improve, students would be better prepared, and their attitudes and grades might improve. School days starting later would help to significantly improve student attendance! For example, many students oversleep, causing them to be late for school.
