    The Story of Harriet TubmanEven though Harriet Tubman had to break the law, she should be considered a hero because she freed over three hundred slaves. She also joined the Underground Railroad and served as a conductor. She was also kind when she died, she gave her house to a church. She was so famous that the governors knew her. It was the life of a hero. It was 1819 when Araminta Rose was born. At age 11, her first name was changed from Araminta to Harriet Rose. The name was given from the name of his parents. Harriet knew very little and knew that she had pure African American heritage. She was born and lived in Tidewater, Maryland in Dorchester County. (Ann Petry) Harriet was born a slave. She was not allowed to see her parents. She had a very harsh white supervisor.
