  • Essay / Muslim Brotherhood Essay - 731

The Muslim Brotherhood is a religious and political group, founded on the belief that Islam is not only a religion, but also a true way of life. The Muslim Brotherhood calls for a move away from secularism and a return to the rules of the Quran as a structure for healthy families, communities and states. Moving away from secularism means trying to combine religion and the state, and people of different beliefs are no longer equal before the law. The Muslim Brotherhood is present mainly in North Africa and the Middle East. The Muslim Brotherhood is considered a terrorist organization by many countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Russia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (Human Rights Watch). As mentioned in the first paragraph, many countries in North Africa consider the Muslim Brotherhood to be a terrorist organization. The Muslim Brotherhood itself, however, initially stated that its goal was to build schools, hospitals and other services, while instilling its non-secular beliefs and ways of doing things. When they were founded in the late 1920s and early 1930s, they saw themselves as doing everyone a service by making sure everyone was Muslim. Not everyone believed in it or wanted this lifestyle imposed on them, especially people in North Africa. This led to violent killings and horrific conflicts, mainly instigated by the Muslim Brotherhood. Fast forward to present-day Egypt, where the Brotherhood was first founded. The conflict between these North African countries and the Muslim Brotherhood has not eased at all. In fact, the situation is currently worse than ever. For example, last month (April 28, 2014), 683 individuals were...... middle of paper...... all countries classify them as a terrorist group. The Muslim Brotherhood shows no signs of backing down and the justice systems will continue to execute members if the Muslim Brotherhood continues to impose these terrorist threats. For now, there is not much being done to stop the Muslim Brotherhood, and the only thing is What North Africa is doing is changing its laws so it can execute even more of them. If nothing is done by one side or the other, more and more people on both sides of the conflict will be brutally killed or injured. The Muslim Brotherhood is a growing problem that appears to be spiraling out of control. What makes the situation even more frightening is that the Brotherhood members, who are responsible for the attacks, believe that they are serving Islam in a good way and that they are doing the right thing, even if the end result is simply too many unwarranted casualties..
