    In the video Game over: Gender, Race, and Violence in Video Games, produced by Sut Jhally, there is a debate over whether or not video games have an effect on society. The cause of this debate is that media such as television, magazines, and advertising provide video game players with an escape from reality. With the current technology in the world, video games have come a long way. It can create realistic images, burst blood on the screen, real shooting stimulations or expose women as sexual figures. There are excellent graphic games like “Sim City” which can provide a more educational point of view. However, violent video games such as “Grand Theft Auto” or “Call of Duty” are some of the causes of school shootings. Craig Anderson, a researcher at the University of Iowa, claims that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, two Columbine High School students who murdered thirteen people and injured approximately twenty-three others in 1999, made because of a violent video game that they both loved to play called “”Doom” affected them negatively. This sparked major concerns about violent video games toward children and attracted the attention of the U.S. Senate (Anderson). Inappropriate video games can be addictive and have a negative influence on society, causing gamers to lose their sense of reality. The primary purpose of female role-playing characters in video games is to serve as sexual figures. These characters are voiced as prostitutes, prostitutes, and strippers to generally appeal to male players. When male players have the opportunity to enjoy strippers in games, it gives them a feeling of power. When players play such video games with these kinds of characters, they find themselves in another virtual world where they control everything. It manipulates their reality.
