The population of Brazil is larger than that of Mexico, but it is smaller than that of the United States of America. Ethnicity Brazil's largest ethnic group identifies as white, 55% of the population is white. The second largest ethnic group is mulattoes, who make up approximately 38% of the population. The rest of the Brazilian population is made up of Asians, Native Americans and Blacks, making up 10% of the population. The official language of Brazil is Portuguese, spoken by the majority of the population, but as Brazil is the only country in the Americas to speak Portuguese, the language is an important aspect of culture and society (World Population Statistics 2014).GDPThe gross domestic product (GDP) in Brazil increased to 0.70 percent in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared to the previous quarter (Trending Economics 2014).
