    Theories of criminology are conflict theories that are based on the idea that the fundamental causes of crime are the social and economic forces operating within society. Approaches to critical cultural theory, and in particular. to literature, which seeks to confront the social, historical and ideological forces and structures that produce and constrain it. Labeling theory explains how individuals' personal identity and behavior can be determined or influenced by the terms used to describe or classify them. This approach modifies sociological studies that have one or more random variables exhibiting correlated variation in urban growth to examine concentration and stability in rates of criminal behavior.
