I believe that parental involvement is essential to the success of a child's education. I believe that for a child to excel in school, their parents or guardians must educate them as much as the teacher. It is important that parents understand the impact they have on their child's education and the importance of their role. Since a child learns as much from his parents as from his teacher, it is important that parents also remain educated and familiar with the material the student is working on. For a teacher to properly educate a student, he must know him in all areas of development, including parents, because of the crucial role they play in the growth and development of their child. By involving parents, they can work with the teacher to develop a program that best suits the student. Involving parents in their child's education benefits the student, parents and teacher because there will be abundant support for the child's education. By involving parents, they are able to help the child outside of school, which will help them stay on track in their education. I believe that with the support of the teacher and parents, a student has a greater chance of growing up and becoming a successful educated person. I think communication is the key to keeping families involved in students' education. There are several different forms of communication that I plan to use to communicate with families. I plan to use email and newsletters as my primary means of communication with my students' families. I think email is the best way to convey information quickly and a way for parents to ask me questions when they can't meet face to face. I believe it's... middle of paper......judging or bullying them for whatever reason. I may also encounter parents with different views than me and it is important to respect what they say and listen. The world is changing and becoming more diverse, so teachers need to be more open and informed about the diversity of families. I found this course more interesting than I expected. I thought I knew a lot about parental involvement in education, but I learned much more than I imagined. I learned that there are much more diverse families than I thought and it was interesting to learn more about them. I also learned about all the different types of communications that I will be able to use to communicate with my students' families. Overall, I found this course very useful for future educators and I believe that through it I will be able to communicate with the parents of my students and better engage them..
