  • Essay / Global Warming and Climate Change - 2847

Global warming and climate change threaten the very existence of humanity; understanding the effects of each and implementing measures to save this planet are of extreme urgency. Global warming has become a threat to everything and everyone on Earth. Global warming is caused by many natural and man-made processes that continue to affect our environment. Carbon dioxide and methane releases are the two main contributors to climate change. With environmental warming now almost inevitable, methane gases are sure to become an even bigger contributor as the planet warms and ice melts at the poles. It will take an unprecedented global effort to slow and return global warming to a much more manageable level. People need to start doing their part to reduce their carbon footprint, by buying more fuel-efficient cars, reducing travel, recycling, reducing their energy needs and making their homes greener. Governments must act with utmost importance to more strictly regulate their countries' energy consumption and provide significant financial assistance for the conversion to a greener form. Global warming is the gradual increase in the Earth's surface temperature caused by the release of greenhouse gases. which remain trapped in the Earth's atmosphere. These trapped gases are responsible for changes in global climate patterns. Greenhouse gases are considered any gas absorbed into the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor, while blocking the sun's solar rays from escaping into space. There is a natural process called greenhouse effect which is necessary to keep our planet sustainable, without this process the Earth would be a... middle of paper ...... eel calamity in the years to come. Rising temperatures will radically change our climates and ecosystems, making them far removed from the nature we have known over the centuries before us. Oceans, continents, and entire landscapes face the very real possibility of absolute alteration resulting in radical boundary changes. Without a strong will to implement a change in the current way of life, everyone will undoubtedly end up facing this very real change in the future, and probably much worse. Everyone must do their part to protect the future of this planet so that all can benefit for centuries to come. It is time for all facets of life to stand up and demand change now before it is too late. Otherwise, the impending catastrophe will overwhelm most of this planet, leaving it in ruins after suffering a global manifestation for the worse..
