    This weight gain is due to overeating due to stress and lack of time to cook a healthy meal. As a result, we find ourselves eating fast food because we are constantly on the go. We each eventually realized this coherent pattern and strongly thought about losing weight together as a group (health behavior change). “Social Cognitive Theory” (SCT) is a theory of interpersonal behavior change that can be applied to the health behavior change (weight loss) that my friends at NMSU underwent and that I have been thinking about for some time . According to the Boston University School of Public Health (2013), SCT considers how individuals can acquire and maintain behavior, while also considering the social environment in which individuals perform that behavior.
