    In Howards End by EM Forester, the Howards End house has a central significance in the story as each character has a different meaning to the property. To better understand this meaning, use the other houses in the story to describe how each house is different from Howards End. Using locations such as Wickham Place in relation to Howards End to get a feel for what the characters think. Next, understanding how different apartments are from Howards End, even though both are houses. This is also why places such as Ducie Street and Oniton Grange are still different from Howards End, although all three have the same social status. Next, how places like Leonard's Place are the opposite of Howards End, but still make sense. Then explain how Forster can express Howards End so well that it seems as if he himself lived there.
