Hoping to improve the business, Canadian Tire continues to try to improve its online strategies so that it can keep pace with its competitors who also use online strategies. Additionally, Canadian Tire does this because in today's society many people shop online because it is easier and more convenient. Additionally, Canadian Tire is currently working on making home deliveries for customers who purchase products online to give them a competitive advantage over other companies that do business online, such as Walmart. Competitive Strengths and Weaknesses According to Passport, Canadian Tire began selling their products online and began to focus more on growing their business online. This is a competitive advantage because they are able to keep up with, or even outperform, their competitors who also provide online services. Another competitive advantage is that Canadian Tire's automotive products and loyalty program are what differentiate it from its competitors. According to Passport, sales of Canadian Tire clothing and sporting goods suffered during the fourth quarter of the year as sales were very low.
