    The monster is very fearful, because when the monster asks Frankenstein to create a companion for him, he says, “I will avenge my wounds; if I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear, and mainly towards you my sworn enemy, because my creator, I swear to you an inextinguishable hatred. (Shelley 148) The monster shows how powerful he can be by striking fear into people, especially Frankenstein. Over the years, the monster has become more fearful through its manifestations and the way it uses threats. What makes the monster fear you even more is the suspense of not knowing what he will do next. Additionally, after Frankenstein destroys the monsters, the monster's future wife says, “...I have the power; you think you are unhappy, but I can make you so unhappy that the light of day will be odious to you. (Shelley 172) the monster realizes that Frankenstein fears him and he feeds on it, giving him power over Frankenstein. He also knows that the only way for people to listen to him is to scare them. The monster took it and used it to fulfill its small needs. The fact that the monster knows this makes him even more fearful because he is not afraid to do it. More or less, everyone who has encountered the monster fears
