    Although there is no speculation that the Corinthian church believes a different message than Clement's own church in Rome; he does not emphasize the teachings, but rather the unifying acts he has seen bring a community together. While Irenaeus, confronted with false teachings, considered that the best way to unify a church culture was the message of what he considered to be "truth", so that the Church could be consciously separated from those who teach false doctrines. This shows the type of change that has occurred in Church culture over the 100 years of writing. What seems important to a congregation changes as society evolves.
