    Sports and their associated rivalries are one of America's favorite pastimes and involve passion and emotion. Think of baseball and automatically the rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees comes to mind. Their hostilities make Hatfield and McCoy's feud resemble that of Jack and Jill in Sunday school (O'Connor, 2004). It is one of the oldest, most famous, and certainly one of the fiercest sports of all American sports. It's a rivalry that is never boring and plays out over and over again, with each series making the rivalry stronger. The rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees is the ultimate rivalry, the history of this rivalry dates back to the early 1900s, the New York Yankees are proud and confident with their acquisitions and curses, restless and frustrated are the Boston Red Sox. and their fans.The history of the rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees dates back to the start of Red Sox baseball on April 26, 1901, when they debuted in baseball as the Americans from Boston. They faced a Baltimore team that would later be known as the New York Yankees. The Red Sox may have lost that first game, but they won the first-ever "modern" World Series in 1903 and repeated as champions of the American. League in 1904 (Frommer, 2004). In 1910, the name Boston Red Sox became official and in April 1912, they moved to Fenway Park, which was a memorable time for the Red Sox. They won the World Series and the American League pennant again that year. The team was well balanced with excellent pitchers, hitters and fielders, allowing the Red Sox to go on and win repeat pennants and championships from 1915 to 1918. Then things began to change.
