    Blackbeard was one of the most feared pirates in history, as he was a fierce and fearless man who took control of many ships during his years of pirate. He wasn't a good man but he was good at what he did. Some information was uncertain due to the time period, but there are many interesting facts about it. Blackbeard's real name was Edward Teach, there were other ways to spell his last name, but Teach was the most common ("Blackbeard: Pirate"). Terror at sea). He was born sometime between the late 1680s and early 1690s, due to this early period his actual date of birth is unknown ("Blackbeard: Terror of Pirates at Sea"). He was an imposing but thin British man, with an enormous chest ("Blackbeard: Pirate Terror at Sea"). He tied a burning rope in his hair to appear even more fierce (feared). He received the nickname Blackbeard because of his braided black beard which was always tied with a black ribbon ("Blackbeard: Terror of Pirates at Sea"). Blackbeard was a pirate as an adult, but when he was younger he worked on a British ship as a privateer; whose mission was to take control of or attack enemy ships (“Blackbeard: Pirate Terror at Sea”). His father, whose name is unknown, is also said to be a senior privateer on a Jamaican ship ("Blackbeard: Pirate Terror at Sea"). Later, he joined a group of fierce pirates of the Caribbean ("Blackbeard: Pirate Terror at Sea").
