    Have you ever wondered why the sky is blue. Often I find myself looking up on a clear day and thinking about this question? Why isn't it green, or red, or pink, for that matter. Every day, the human eye blinks more than 23,000 times. The human eye is a complex organ that performs one of the most important tasks in our body. However, many questions arise regarding the eye. What function do they perform? What happens if we don't take care of them? How exactly do they work together to help us form images? Exactly how far can the human eye see? The incredible thing about the human eye is that it can see objects up to 3 kilometers long. That’s almost 35 football fields! Let's consider the mechanics of the eye. The eye is a transparent ball containing watery fluids. You have the front part of the eyeball that is translucent called the cornea. It is extremely thin and its role is to protect the eyes by refracting the light passing through it. The next part of the eye is the pupil, which everyone knows. This is the black part of your eye. Did you know that it gets its color because light entering the eye is absorbed and does not leave it. You may also notice that when you look at the pupil, you can see a different colored circle in it. This is called the iris, and it varies for everyone. The actual color of your eyes is determined by a pigment found in the iris. Your parents' genes determine the color of a human's eyes. The role of the iris is to widen or close depending on how bright or dark it is. If it's clear and the sun is shining on you, the iris will adjust so that your pupil becomes smaller to only let in a certain amount of light. We can see trees, birds, electronic devices, and most importantly, ourselves. Human connection plays a determining role in our development. Human sight is what allows this connection between us. Personally, I believe it is one of the most underestimated and taken for granted human organs. Even though you can survive without your eyes, they give you so much life. You can see for miles and, like I said before, you can live life to the fullest. You are able to help more people and enjoy your life more. This is why you should do everything in your power to protect your eyesight from damage. There are, however, certain limits to your vision. You can only see so far. This is why there is a visual spectrum for us. It has about 10 limits. First, a set of human eyes can only see 200 degrees horizontally and 135 degrees diagonally.
