I believe in taking risks in life to move towards bigger and better things. The first big decision I made in my life was to join the United States Air Force. It was my uncle who put the idea in my head, but my father and my friends thought otherwise. My parents divorced when I was young and I didn't have the privilege, like my friends, to sit down and discuss their decisions with their parents. My father was kicked out of the draft after he was in a car accident and I didn't think he was very keen on me joining the service. The main reason I chose to join the military was the decision to serve the country. In my opinion, the major decision of joining the military is having the privilege of serving your own country. I think it's great for young men and women to have the ambition to serve and it can transform a person into a very motivated individual. My uncle and mother were both very supportive and thought it would be an important decision in my life.
