  • Essay / Housing Problems in Seattle Central

Today, housing problems are one of the worst problems, not only for Seattle Central students, but for all students in the United States. According to homeguides.sfgate.com, students suffer from having to get a house or apartment in terms of cost and space. Apartments near and around our school are particularly more expensive than other schools. Students in central Seattle also face greater problems now that housing costs are rising. Housing costs are cheaper if apartments are a little further from Central Seattle. However, going further would mean that students would have to abandon accessibility and convenience, which are important to students. Dorms might be one of the best alternatives, but they have very limited capacity and are as expensive as apartments near our school. Housing problems must be resolved as quickly as possible. To do this, colleges need to think about how to address cost issues and small dorm issues. There are specific examples regarding the financial aspects of overpriced apartments near Seattle Central. If we walk 20 minutes down Madison Street, there is an apartment called Summit in Madison Park. For a one-bedroom apartment, it costs approximately $1,450.00 per month. However, near our school, a one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,700.00 per month. This example shows that there is a significant difference in cost. However, most universities and colleges in the United States have similar problems in solving the high cost of housing near each school, but schools need to start providing clear solutions. To help resolve this issue, our school should create a contract with nearby apartments, so students can get discounts with these apartment complexes. For example, a...... middle of paper ......ents. I think many students have the same experience as me, so I interviewed my friend. According to my friend, if the dorm has bigger rooms and cheaper prices, most students said they prefer the dorm over other apartments. In conclusion, the school should solve student housing problems in terms of cost and small dormitories. To do that, the school would need to contract with apartments near downtown Seattle or expand the small dorm. In addition, the school must defend the students' positions. The school should recognize the need to improve these issues. If these problems are solved, students can devote all their efforts to studying and the school can retain competent students.
