Imagine a world in total war with no end in sight. The cause of this war is simple: oil. Everyone is fighting for these last oil reserves. How can we prevent this future? The answer is solar energy. Claim: Solar energy has the potential to become the primary source of energy in the United States and replace the need for more conventional, more harmful forms of electricity generation. Meaning: The United States must face the fact that the world is running short of oil and with the current rise in oil prices, economic and political instability in the regions where the United States obtains the majority of its oil, this country must begin to look for alternative energy means to replace oil and end our dependence on foreign powers.Overview: Today I will discuss the potential of solar energy to become the primary source of energy in this country and the latest research that could make solar energy more efficient and cost-effective. I will also present the environmental benefits of using solar energy compared to other, more harmful forms of energy.Body:I.
