A Nobel Peace Prize-winning philosopher named Albert Schweitzer once said that although we do not have control of our destiny, we can be certain that happiness can be achieved specifically through service. Community service is voluntary work performed by individuals or organizations without being paid. This is done with the aim of giving back to society and building community. As a young person, I think it is very important for my generation to participate in community service, especially here in Malaysia. In my opinion, community service is essential to providing young people with a platform to foster positive changes in their lives and the lives of others. Nonprofit organizations need volunteers in various locations to provide the manpower needed to deliver services. Young people will above all be exposed to the living conditions of others. This, in turn, will contribute to or bring about an inner change that will act as the catalyst for positive progress in the world.
