    The presentation of Jane's childhood story through a modernized diary in the form of a personal micro-blog - a blog with relatively short entries and files smaller than traditional blogs - helps tell the story in a way that is not only more realistic, by being presented as the present through the eyes of a child, but also more accessible and engaging for the modern reader by being moved from its Victorian setting in modern times. Creating such a blog provides Jane's character with the psychological benefits of social interaction and self-disclosure, or revealing personal elements such as thoughts or emotions, while also providing fans with a space virtual to interact and connect with the character, as well as each other. The creation of Jane's Tumblr account allows her story to be told through her eyes at the time. Nothing is seen as more or less important due to the benefit of hindsight, and emotions are not diminished or exaggerated due to the effects of the passage of time. The micro-blogging approach also allows readers (or in this case, subscribers) to see into Jane's mind as events in her life are occurring - to see what worries, thoughts and hopes she who have not faded away. the years.
