  • Essay / Essay on Elements of a Film Poster - 885

There are so many elements to consider when making a film. Some elements are more important than others. For example, if there was no camera, there would obviously be no film. But we also shouldn't forget the little elements that make up a film. Elements such as the title sequence, poster, text movement, etc. Having a poster for your film is a means of advertising. The goal of the poster is ultimately to “sell” the film advertised. Usually the name of the movie will be in big bold letters so you can't miss it. Then there will be intriguing images of the actors or events from the film. They represent the mood and tone through the designs, colors and fonts of the posters. A catchy tagline, names of famous actors and reports about the film are also included on the poster. All these aspects are used to arouse the desire of the intended target audience. Many posters can give people an intense feeling of anticipation and excitement while conveying powerful messages. The visual elements of a movie poster can have a persuasive effect and grab the moviegoer's attention, ultimately selling the movie. Harry Potter posters are the ones that usually catch my eye, this one in particular. The font is the same as used in every film, title sequence and poster. This is important because it creates a link between all the films in the series. It's an imperfect font because not all the letters are on the same level. This gives the audience a feeling of imperfection, much like Harry's life. The main color of this poster is dark blue. This gives us the feeling of evil and darkness that is what Harry Potter revolves around. The font color is like a golden color. Perhaps it is to glorify the...... middle of paper ......constant and repetitive music. This allowed the editing to blend in well with the music to make it more disturbing to watch and listen to. It's clear that posters and title sequences are very important, even vital, to the success of a film. Author not mentioned, 2012 Media analysis: film poster. Classroom area.
