The Hobbit is the story of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who lives in Hobbiton. He leads a peaceful life in his elegant home, surrounded by beautiful surroundings. His life is suddenly interrupted when he sits on a bench with his eyes closed, enjoying life. Bilbo opens his eyes and before him stands a tall, bearded man, dressed in a gray coat and with a staff in his hand. It is Gandalf who is looking for someone to share an adventure with. Before Bilbo even knows what kind of adventure he's talking about, Gandalf has invited himself over for tea. With him, he is accompanied by twelve dwarves led by their leader Thorin Oakenshield. They go on an adventure to recover the dwarves' lost treasure and reclaim their ancient home, guarded by the dragon Smaug. Gandalf decided that Bilbo would be a great addition to the team and play the role of the burglar, due to his physical characteristics. Even though Bilbo is very reductive to the idea, he cannot resist Gandalf's determination and signs on for the journey in the lead. As they begin their journey, Bilbo has serious trust issues with the dwarves and worries about what they will encounter. Bilbo and the dwarves encounter all sorts of enemies and obstacles that test their mental well-being and force them to prepare for any potential threats. Sometimes they find themselves in big trouble, but manage to save themselves thanks to Bilbo's quick wit and stealth. During the journey, Gandalf heads to a place where they can rest. They travel through the lands of the elves and stay with Elrond, an old friend of Gandalf. As they continue their journey, they cross a mountain and find a cave in which the group can spend the night. When everyone...... middle of paper ...... d by the offer and Bilbo has "betrayed" him, Thorin tries to avoid a good deal. Meanwhile, elves, humans and dwarves have arrived to claim the treasure.
