This serves to deny any "unnatural" sexualization of the white body through routine while emphasizing black performance. Twerking represents a type of black female sexuality that has its roots in colonization and was exploited during the Victorian era in order to justify the objectification of the black female body by creating it as inherently different. The black body has become hypersexualized, animalistic and representative of the inherent inferiority of the “other”. Simultaneously, this also allows for the analysis of black women's bodies, unlike white women who are socialized as black women.
