    My motivation for learning to cook was my child. Before I had children, I always watched my grandmother cook. She did all sorts of things. My favorite was the collard greens and fried chicken. When I first tried to make fried chicken, I didn't fry the chicken all the way. The chicken still had blood in it. After watching my grandmother fry chicken several times and trying to cook it myself, I got better at it. I started to challenge myself more and more. When I bit into the chicken I fried, there was no blood. The chicken was fully cooked. After that, my confidence level skyrocketed. I said to myself, “Cooking is child’s play for me now.” I was frying chicken twice a week, I even started putting my own flavor of seasoning on it. Once I mastered making fried chicken, I then taught my brother how to make it. When learners don't feel confident or anxious, certain feelings cross the synapses to stop them. When learners feel more confident, different chemicals flow through the synapses to make them work quickly and well. The older we grow, the more we know. I use my skills every day. I prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for my family. I even prepare snacks throughout the day. I also cook for different events such as baby showers and parties.
