Leonardo also favored science over art. He included illustrations in his notes for better understanding: “[with] what words, O writer, can you describe with perfection the whole arrangement of that of which the drawing is here?...the more you write details about it, the more you will confuse the mind of the listener" (Belt 6 and), all the drawings in Leonardo's diary were actually intended to be an aid to his scientific research.
