The use of Native Americans as mascots or team names has developed an issue that has caused controversy in today's society. The question that must be asked then is: Why do we as a society quietly allow such disrespectful and hurtful behavior towards Native Americans to continue, without taking any positive steps to restrict it? Having people running around in war paint and screaming headdresses at sports games doesn't honor anyone's culture.
