  • Essay / Childhood Immunization - 2391

Intro: The pros and cons of childhood vaccination are my topic because being in the medical field, it is my duty and responsibility to educate parents about the vaccines that the child receives and to be able to explain to parents what vaccination is for and how to protect their child against illness or life-threatening illness. According to the MedlinePlus website, the meaning of vaccination (vaccination) is a way to trigger your immune system and prevent serious, life-threatening illnesses.17 Vaccination is another way to keep our children healthy, especially when they are at school or daycare. They are exposed to all kinds of diseases and illnesses. By getting them vaccinated, their immune system will eventually recognize the infection and attack it later in life. According to my research, tens of thousands of infants in the United States have been killed due to certain diseases like rubella (German measles), diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), but now that vaccines for these diseases are now available, there are fewer deaths. . The risk of not vaccinating children far outweighs the small risks associated with vaccination. Some illnesses can be prevented, such as measles and mumps, if the child is vaccinated. These illnesses could cause permanent damage such as disability and death. For the most part, vaccines are safe and very effective. Vaccines have kept our children healthy and saved millions of lives for many years. Some diseases cannot be treated with simple medical treatment, so vaccination will be a better solution. Some people travel internationally and may have traveled to an area where there have been disease outbreaks, so it is important that our children are vaccinated...... middle of paper ......3.10. xxxiv Ibid.11.
