  • Essay / PB&J Sandwich - 1171

One thing that is most common in every American household in America is the love of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, affectionately known as the PB&J sandwich. This culinary perfection has been around for years and the recipe has been tweaked again and again. When my mother lived in Jamaica, she only knew the peanut butter sandwich. She had never heard of grape jelly until she came to the United States in 1981, when she began working as a babysitter. So when I started attending kindergarten in 1994, naturally, she packed my lunch box for my lunch. Unfortunately, I grew to dislike it in no time. I was always joked about not comparing PB&J sandwiches, but the neighborhood kids would always give me different recipes that sometimes only had peanut butter without jelly or jelly without peanut butter. When I got to high school, I started babysitting and each kid had their own sandwich. Marshawn loves honey peanut butter (photo 1) on white bread with banana slices. Tyhere is Marshawn's twin brother, but he enjoys creamy whipped peanut butter (photo 2) over wheat with crushed Honey Nut Cheerios on top. My cousin Kayla loves to eat creamy peanut butter with banana and strawberries (image 3) on honey wheat bread. Kayla's younger sister is allergic to most fruits, so I give her white chocolate peanut butter with honey on extra fibrous bread. Abigail loves her sandwich on honey toasted wheat bread, topped with crunchy peanut butter brown sugar and pancake syrup. Smucker's slogan is "with a name like smucker, it must be good." From what I saw at Kroger, there weren't a lot of low quality products on the shelves. But from what little I saw, they contained 99.4% all natural peanut butter. It's so natural the...... middle of paper...... Company. They are both a good source of fiber and daily vitamins and both are a little sweet. Jewish rye bread is another type of bread that can be used. it has two different types with seeds (image 14.) or without seeds (image 15). Both breads are low in fat, cholesterol free, and high fructose corn syrup free. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have been made and eaten for centuries across America and even in other countries. If you like the contrast between thickness, creaminess and flavor, then the sandwich is for you! Children and adults love it because it has the peanut taste and the sweetness of jelly and you can make different variations of it so you never get tired of it. Don't relive your childhood with artificial food coloring and high sugar content! Treat yourself, your kids and grandkids to a nutritious lunch they'll love!
