  • Essay / A Step into the Future - 2469

The great physicist Albert Einstein once said: “A new type of thinking is essential if humanity is to survive and reach higher levels. » He understood the importance of exploiting new developments to create something beneficial for humanity. No one demonstrates this way of thinking better than Einstein, because he had the audacity to explore areas of science that few people have ever explored in order to make the world a better place. Today, human society is faced with the harmful consequences of global warming due to pollution from the combustion of fossil fuels; the world must once again discover new alternatives. These alternatives may be risky in some ways, but for humanity to thrive and continue to survive, these risks are necessary. An alternative to fossil fuels is nuclear power, a recent but still fairly rare innovation in electricity production. Clearly, nuclear power is expected to play a greater role in powering the world as it presents environmental, viable and political incentives. Nuclear energy has significant environmental advantages over conventional energy sources. A good example is comparing the effects of fossil fuels and nuclear energy on global warming. When considering pollution, an important factor is the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission from a power plant. The use of nuclear energy could significantly slow global warming because it produces much less CO2 than fossil fuels. For example, a 1,250 megawatt coal-fired power plant releases 11.8 million tonnes of CO2 per year; a nuclear power plant of the same size releases only 0.5 million tons (McLeish 37). This means that nuclear energy produces less than 5% of the emissions of coal energy! However, some may doubt the impact of global warming. Signs of global warming include... middle of paper ...... a solution to end dependence on foreign oil and maintain a stable energy source. Overall, the environmental, practical and policy benefits make nuclear energy the ideal source to power the world. No matter what critics say or believe, the benefits of nuclear power far outweigh its drawbacks. Although people probably want to increase nuclear power plants immediately, it will take time to achieve the ultimate goal of combating pollution or foreign influence. Fortunately, by choosing nuclear power, the American public will have taken a step into the future to create more innovative features that will benefit everyone. As the world continues to progress, people will need to take risks that can lead to a better life. Whether positive results are immediate or not, taking risks will certainly pave the way for improvement and success..
