    Many people in this world want to make a difference in life. However, most people don't want to put in all the effort necessary to achieve this. The work of a pediatrician changes the lives of many people. Unfortunately, becoming a pediatrician requires drive and effort that many people don't have. The profession of pediatrician is a very specialized and interesting profession because it has the privilege of caring for and helping as many children as possible. What is a pediatrician? Pediatricians are specialized doctors focused on the care of babies and young adults (Career Cruising). They deal with childhood illnesses and the care of healthy and sick infants (Elberts). The typical upper age limit for patients is twelve to twenty-one years (NetMed Pediatrics). They must treat their patients as if they are going to change the world. Pediatricians perform many tasks during the course of a day. They perform physical examinations and order tests that will help diagnose illnesses and injuries that have occurred. They advise on surgery and medications and can also help patients resolve puberty and family issues (Career Cruising). It is their responsibility to ensure that patients are not only healthy, but also safe and happy. Some pediatricians communicate with social workers, family members, and health care workers to best understand the big picture (Career Cruising). If the patient appears to have more personal problems, pediatricians have the option of referring the patient to other doctors, such as a psychiatrist, for treatment. Others work as advocates educating the community about car safety and the benefits of school breakfast (Career Cruising). Pediatricians typically work forty-five to sixty hours a week! They may even be in the middle of a paper......are on a cruise). Medical science and health care will always evolve and change (D'Orazio). Pediatricians have a very important job.
