Review of US foreign policy towards IranIntroduction:Relations between the United States and Iran have gone from bad to worse since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Iran has been considered a member of the “Axis of Evil” and American foreign policy towards it was constructed from this perspective. However, numerous domestic, regional, and global changes have led to the belief that there is a need to review U.S. foreign policy toward Iran. It is widely believed that a stable relationship with Iran would ease pressure on the Obama administration and U.S. foreign policy makers. This review attempts to explain the developments that led to the need to review policy toward Iran and to provide U.S. foreign policy toward Iran with a clear vision of Iranian domestic policy and its regional policy toward States of the region and the prospects of these States as such. GOOD. It will conclude with key findings and recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of U.S. foreign policy toward Iran. The need for a review of US foreign policy toward Iran: The need for a critical review of the Obama administration's foreign policy is important because much has changed. in the security situation in the Middle East and Eastern Europe during his second term. Three important reasons suggest the need to revise U.S. foreign policy in general and toward Iran in particular. First, American strategic interests in the Middle East are challenged by Iranian ambitions to dominate the region. Iran is hardly involved in interfering in the internal affairs of other Arab states, creating or supporting certain Shiite groups, in terms of promoting Iran's regional policies. Furthermore, despite the geopolitical and economic difficulties...... middle of paper ......ty of Iran and the Iranian people, and support reform movements such as (the Green Movement).• Maintain the pressure for human rights reforms and use it as a pressure card. It should be clear to Iran that seeking a final agreement on its nuclear program does not mean ignoring human rights violations inside the country. • Leverage a common threat within Saudi Arabia and Israel to push for an Arab-Israeli peace deal. A coalition consisting of Turkey and Saudi Arabia would fill any void in the region resulting from the US withdrawal in favor of the Asia-Pacific region. This coalition needs to put pressure on Saudi Arabia and Turkey to resolve their differences resulting from the Arab Spring. I hope that taking into account this recommendation will streamline diplomatic foreign policy in favor of rapprochement with Iran. And I hope this review will help design an effective foreign policy.
