    The impact of the Super Bowl was a phenomenon. In fact, since January 1967, “it has become part of American culture, which shows that it has become the most important event in the sporting world today” (Johnson, Savidge, p. 83). The Super Bowl has pretty humble origins, so it's shocking why this game became wildly popular and remains so. In fact, one would notice that it is a funfair, a week-long convention accompanied by an unofficial national holiday with the right game for television. So the name of the game is not an exaggeration. We can also notice economic trends and the success of the Super Bowl. The economic footprint of this particular game actually exceeds the GNP of nearly a dozen countries. Many viewers sit in front of the television, almost a third of Americans; a number that is significantly higher than the number of people who actually vote in presidential elections. It is a family tradition and cultural event that connects many individuals in the United States (Wertheim, np). What makes this particular event a cultural phenomenon? The whole combination of food, parties, suspense, alcohol and sports is what makes this game such an exciting play to understand and revisit with historical design. At the end of the season, on a Sunday; this game had the potential to bring together many viewers at the same time from three different areas of the United States. In very simplistic terms, the Super Bowl is a game played every year to determine the champion of American football.
