    I Chinweude Okani identify as a full-blooded Nigerian. Although I was born in the United States, my parents were both born and raised in Nigeria. This diversity in my culture has both advantages and disadvantages. I consider myself very privileged to live here in the United States. This is especially true because of the differences between the two countries' health systems. In Nigeria, doctors do not have the experience to meet the needs of their patients. The tools used there are outdated compared to those used in the United States. Medical students and doctors prefer to continue their practice in other countries rather than staying in Nigeria because they do not believe they will achieve much there. There is a major lack of trust in healthcare in this country. I have witnessed the lack of trust in Nigerian healthcare.
