    Serj and Charles both show their true emotions and feelings about the war, for example Serj says "Barbarisms of Barbaras with pointy heels". Barbarianisms means extreme cruelty and Barbaras is another word for barbarians. This all just sums up the brutality of war and the people who profit from it are simple barbarians who make people believe in war and that is a necessity. Charles' emotions seem to be everywhere in his poem, but the one that stood out to me is that when he finishes one line he says "We were sent there to fight and win." This phrase appears three times in The Con Job because when we go to war we are supposed to win, no one thinks we can or will lose. This image is being betrayed because of planned wars and the way our new media uses war coverage. There are very few differences between these two great works of literature. The most striking difference is the fact that The Con Job is about Dessert Storm and BYOB is about Iraq Freedom. Another obvious difference would be how each is described, BYOB as some sort of party saying things like "Everyone go to the party, have a great time". While The Con Job says: “The ground war started today.” Charles shows nothing in his poem that would make anything about Dessert Storm seem funny.
