By analyzing and studying the communication process, we can improve our ability to communicate effectively with each other. To have a successful interpersonal relationship, one must first interact with others, which is called interpersonal communication (Hybels & Weaver p. 156). Acknowledging the emotions of others is a very important first step in building a relationship. If you can't feel what someone else is feeling, you can't connect with them on a personal level, which can hinder your relationship process. Interpersonal communication is important because of the goal to be achieved. Whenever we want to stay in communication with another person, we try to share ideas and feelings.
